"O villain, villain, smiling, damned villain!"- Shakespheare

Boy I wish I could go say this to somebody right now that I will not name. I am horribly angry at them and do not know what to say. You know if you are in the seventh grade and older how horribly hard it is to fit in at my age. Everybody (especially girls) are going around judging people for who they are and who they aren't. Modern day technology only speeds up the process.

Enough with the girly drama now. I am having a spinal operation in the end of May. Last year at about his time, some nurses came to our school. They said they were testing for scoliosis. Scoliosis is the curving of the spine. I assumed that I did not have this scoliosis and was shocked when they told me I did. They told me that it was idiopathic; No, idiopathic does not mean your an idiot. It simply means that it was developed after you were born.

Soon after, I made a trip to an orthopedic surgeon who prescribed me a back brace (made to hold the spine in place). I had to wear the back brace for 20 hours each day, including sleeping. If you suck in your stomach in as much as you possibly can and hold your breath, you pretty much know how it feels to wear a back brace. Well, I recently went back to the orthopedic surgeon for a regular 3 month x-ray session and heard the dreaded words...

"Miss Ginny, I am afraid that your back brace is not working properly. Based on the way your curve is proggresing, it appears we have no choice but to operate," said the surgeon with no facial expressions.

So now, you basically know what I have been going through lately. I'll write back soon in case you care.
